Steve Trosko, owner and designer
Season's Home Improvements is Steve Trosko's company. He has designed and built home improvements in Columbus, Ohio since 1992, and he designs the work as well as building it.
More than 30 years in Columbus homes
Steve started Season's Home Improvements in 1992. More than 30 years later it's still his name on the work and his number on the phone. He's the owner and the designer, which means the same person thinks about how a room should feel and then answers for how it's built.
The work has always been broad. Finishing a basement, remodeling a kitchen, redesigning a patio or deck in the backyard, rebuilding a driveway. In recent years that's meant curbless showers in large-format porcelain, quartz run up the wall as one slab, basements with bars and theaters, and additions built from the foundation up.
Steve shares the work as it happens. His photos show rooms on the first day, half demolished, framed, tiled and finished, and the posts about finished jobs tend to end with how much he enjoyed the clients. Some of those clients ask him back.

How Steve designs a room
Steve is a designer first. The building is how the design gets made real.
It starts with how you use it
A laundry room you use every week needs a sink, real counters and somewhere to fold. A bar needs light where the glasses are. The layout follows the habits.
Finishes are chosen together
Tile, paint, counters and hardware are picked side by side, against each other, before anything is ordered. On one laundry room the wall color was tested against the floor tile first.
Every season matters
Columbus houses live through hot, humid summers and hard winters. A basement has to stay dry and warm, a sunroom has to be bright without overheating, and a deck has to come through the freeze.
